Answers to the questions we're asked most often about cost, planning permission, guarantees, compliance, maintenance and more.
Aluminium systems typically cost more upfront than uPVC, reflecting slimmer sightlines, a higher strength-to-weight ratio and a longer service life. Exact pricing depends on the system, size and finish you choose — contact us for a free, no-obligation quote.
Lead times depend on the system, finish and current workload. Ask us for a current estimate when you request your quote.
For most unlisted properties outside a conservation area, replacing windows and doors is permitted development and only needs to meet Building Regulations. If your property is listed or in a conservation area, you may need planning permission or listed building consent — check with your Local Planning Authority before ordering. See our Building Regulations guide and area pages for more detail.
We offer a comprehensive 10-year guarantee covering every system and every hour of workmanship.
We carry out a site survey before fabrication to confirm exact openings, structural considerations and finish. Full details of what to expect during your survey are being confirmed — ask our team when you request a quote.
Yes. 2Rsystems is a FENSA-registered installer, so we can self-certify that your window and door installation complies with Building Regulations without you needing to involve Building Control separately. See our Building Regulations guide.
Aluminium systems are low-maintenance: an occasional wipe-down with mild soapy water keeps frames and powder coating looking good, and door/window hardware should be checked and lubricated periodically to keep it operating smoothly.
Our profiles are powder coated to Qualicoat Class 1 or Class 2 standard across a wide range of RAL colours and dual-colour (different colour inside and out) finishes. See our Powder Coating Quality page for details on what each class means.
Double glazing is sufficient for most UK homes and budgets. Triple glazing is worth considering for large glazed areas, north-facing or exposed elevations, or where maximum comfort is the priority. See our Glazing Guide for a full comparison.
Yes. Every Reynaers system is fabricated in-house at our own Romsey workshop, then fitted by our own installation team — not a subcontractor.
Most of our window and door systems are available to RC2 or RC3 security ratings and PAS24 standard — see each product page for the exact rating of that system.
